SOAR
Eligible students in grade 9 can enroll in Student Opportunities through Alternative Resources (SOAR). It helps them make a successful transition from middle school to high school.
Overview
SOAR students will:
- Be in a smaller learning environment.
- Receive additional time, support and resources.
- Have a student-to-teacher ratio of about 15:1.
Program goals
- Help students feel motivated to learn.
- Improve academic skills and achievement.
- Foster a caring and respectful classroom community.
- Develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Build confidence and a positive outlook for the future.
We offer opportunities for SOAR students and their families to get to know each other.
