Compass Mentors
You can volunteer to be a mentor for students in our Compass program. We explain how it works.
Overview
- Our program matches students with professionals in careers that interest them.
- The professionals agree to mentor a student for one semester (18 weeks).
Time commitment
You must commit to mentor a student for one semester (18 weeks) to:
- Meet with them on-line or in-person once a month.
- Exchange emails and texts with them, as needed.
- Attend Compass events.
You can expect to spend 3 to 4 hours per semester at Compass events.
What mentors do

- Sharing information about your career and career path.
- Having them shadow you at work.
- Introducing them to other professionals in your network.
- Provide feedback and tips on things like:
- LinkedIn profiles.
