This is an optional test for grade 7 students who want to test into Accelerated Math 8.

- This exam is optional for:
- Grade 7 students.
- Who have completed Math 7, and
- Want to take Accelerated Math 8 next year.
Exam details
- The exam is a two-part assessment.
- Part 1: Constructed response.
- Part 2: Problem-solving constructed response.
- It is a timed two-hour exam that you will take at your middle school.
- You must score at least 80 percent to pass.
- There are no retakes.
- There is no fee.
Class registration
- If you pass, you will be scheduled for Accelerated Math 8 in the next school year.
- If you do not pass, you will be scheduled for Math 8 in the next school year.
Course credit
- Students who test out of a course move on to the next course.
- You do not earn credit for the course you skip.
Study materials
- Textbook and ISBN number: Core Connections Course 3 (ISBN 9781603280914/ebook 9781603280877-1)
- Selected chapters from Core Connections Integrated 1 (ISBN#978-1-60328-323-6)
You can borrow a hardcover book from your school.
- Ask your teacher for a book or a pass to the media center to check one out.
- You need to return the book after you take the test.
You can buy a hardcover or eBook through the College Preparatory Mathematics (CPM) online store.
- Use a personal email address.
- A school email may already be linked to another CPM book. This can cause access issues.
Test-in requirements and expectations
Wayzata Public Schools and its employees are not responsible for:
- Tutoring the student on any of the material.
- Giving a textbook to students during the test out process.
To enroll in Accelerated Math 8, students must earn a score of 80 percent or better on the exam. You are agreeing to this when you register for the exam.
