Student Parking Rules

Parking at the high school is a privilege.

• Students must follow:
  • All school, city, and state regulations.
  • Know and comply with the all driving and parking rules outlined on this page.

• We only issue parking permits to licensed drivers.
• You must show a valid driver's license when you pick up your car and e-bike parking permits. 
• The City of Plymouth prohibits you from riding snowmobiles to and from school.

•  Display your permit daily.
  • It must hang from the rearview mirror.
  • Vehicles without a visible permit will be ticketed or booted.
• Park only in designated student parking areas.
  • Your vehicle will be ticketed or booted for parking illegally in:
    • Fire lanes.
    • Handicap spots.
    • Incorrect lots.
  • Plymouth Police may issue citations.
• Lock your vehicle. WHS is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
• Vehicles are subject to search if there is reasonable suspicion of illegal or prohibited items.
  • Items found during the search are considered in the student’s possession.

• Students may not use the north drive at dismissal until all buses have exited.

• Minnesota data privacy laws do not allow school staff to share school security videos with:
  • Families.
  • Insurance companies.
• If there is an accident, vehicle owners may choose to report it to their insurance company.

• We may revoke your parking permit for any of the following reasons.
• Speeding and/or careless or reckless driving. 
• Violating the school’s tobacco or chemical use policy.  
• Absences, excessive tardiness, excessive parking violations, or other offenses as determined by the administration. 
• Other behavioral and/or driving violations. 

If you remove a boot from your car

• You pay a $10 fine for your first offense.
• The amount of the fine increases by $10 for each time it happens.
• You cannot drive to school until you have:
  •  Paid your fines.
  • Met with the Dean of Students.

If you lose your permit

• You pay a $10 replacement fee.
• Permits are non-transferable.
• There will be consequences if you share, resell or use another person's permit.
